What is NAD?
NAD stands for "nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide," and every cell needs it. NAD has two core functions. First, it provides energy to the body. For example, the rice and meat you eat rely on NAD to transmit signals and be converted into energy for muscle movement and brain function. Second, it helps cells repair damage. For example, if the DNA in a cell is disrupted, NAD can help repair it and prevent cell death.
Why Does NAD Decrease?
It's not just age; our lifestyle habits also "deplete" NAD. First, there's natural aging: as we age, our body's ability to synthesize NAD decreases.
